What You’ll Experience
Scoliosis: The Artistic Spine
Oh, there are seemingly many different ways to work with scoliosis in the Pilates studio! It can be confusing! In this workshop, we will work with the latest research on scoliosis and how to help your clients in the most simple and straightforward manner. We must also consider our clients’ emotional connection to their scoliotic spine. By that I mean: they have always been told that they are “damaged goods”…I couldn’t disagree more. How we work physically and psychologically makes all the difference in helping our clients, strengthen, develop greater mobility, reduce pain and limit the progression of scoliosis.
Inversions and Upside Down Exercises
From The Jackknife to The Candlestick Walkover, any exercise where the pelvis is lifted is a solid challenge. Why is it easy for some and hard for others? How do we progress a client to be able to one day flip over the bars on the Trapeze Table? What does it really take? Do I have to practice handstands all of the time? Then why aren’t handstands part of the method as a whole? Let’s discover what it takes and work on the progressions to get there. It’s time that you and your clients get the benefit of Inversions and Upside Down Exercises!
